Christmas in the parlor
Tapahtuma
Hakasalmi Villa
The Music! exhibition at Hakasalmi Villa is an opportunity for visitors to discover a handsomely-furnished 19th century home and find out more about just how important music was to late 19th century residents of Helsinki. During the festive season, the villa’s drawing room will be decorated for Christmas. The Christmas tree is topped with an angel and the branches are festooned with garlands, snow flakes and paper cones filled with sweets. Large antique baskets brim with hyacinths and tulips as well as winterised Lily of the Valleys. Nuts and apples are served and visitors are welcome to browse historic Christmas magazines and cards. A pile of presents, wrapped in brown paper and sealed with glossy red wax, have been laid under the tree.
