World Sexual Health Day
The World Sexual Health Day is celebrated annually on 4 September. This year’s theme is ”Love, Bonding and Intimacy.” To honour this day, Sexpo and Helsinki City Museum are organising an open and free-of-charge public event at Helsinki City Museum, Aleksanterinkatu 16.
The topic of the day will be discussed by psychotherapist Jussi Nissinen, Henriikka Sundell, author of Sexpo’s history, and Marja Kihlström, blogger (Puhu muru) and president of the Finnish Association for Sexology. The addresses will take the form of a narrative, shedding light on sexual history in Finland. The event will be opened by Museum Director Tiina Merisalo. Enjoy some sweet treats and explore our selection of books related to the day’s theme.
The museum’s Helsexinki exhibition is also free of charge for the day, presenting city-dwellers’ personal experiences of sexuality, gender and sex.
