Come and customize clothes, shoes, and other accessories! Free entry to the workshop.
At the Helsinki City Museum’s workshop you can paint or decorate leather shoes and bags, patch, darn and embroider, or learn how to cover and sew on buttons.
Bring clothes or accessories requiring small repairs, or alter or decorate an old piece of clothing or an accessory into something new. If you wish, you can also bring treasures from your closet, such as lace or buttons, that you would like to attach to your pieces. In addition to tips and advice, the museum also offers basic materials.
Also joining the event is shoemaker Aija Nurminen, who will share tricks for repairing shoes, among other things. The event is part of the Rainbow History Month program.
