20:45 Ihana seikkailu (directed by Toivo Särkkä, 1962)
Toivo Särkkä’s last work as a director, and the last film script of Serp, the colour film Ihana seikkailu – A Wonderful Adventure – is loosely based on a French play of the same name and adapted to a Finnish milieu. The film has no subtitles.
22:45 Kulkurin valssi (directed by Toivo Särkkä, 1941)
Friday night is finished off with one of the most beloved Finnish films of all times. In this vagabond movie directed by Toivo Särkkä and written by Mika Waltari, a Finnish baron named Arnold (Tauno Palo) escapes St. Petersburg and flees to Finland. On his way over, this charmer wins over the acrobat Cleo (Laila Jokimo) and the beautiful Rosinka (Regina Linnanheimo), and even the countess Helena (Ansa Ikonen) cannot resist the handsome vagabond. Kulkurin valssi is based on a song of the same name with lyrics from J. Alfred Tanner. The film has no subtitles.
