The collections of the Helsinki City Museum are available online for everyone interested in Helsinki. You can explore the city and the lives of its residents in the past through over 100,000 objects, photographs, artworks, and buildings at hkm.finna.fi.
The website Helsinkiphotos.fi, launched in 2017, has reached the end of its technical lifespan. At the same time, the Helsinki City Museum’s Finna site has evolved to better serve the needs of photo users as well. Finna features over 80,000 photographs and a wide range of other materials, including objects, archival materials, artworks, videos, and building data. Finna also offers new features, such as the ability to add image-specific notes and organize favorite lists in various ways.
When the Helsinkiphotos.fi website is shut down in December 2025, all user accounts, favorite lists, and personal data, such as email addresses, will also be deleted.
